All About Book Trails
Learn To Love Books and Our Beautiful Surroundings
BookTrails aims to foster a love of literacy, the outdoors and our surrounding environment to local Steamboat Springs kids. Through environmentally focused books and programs at Routt County family ranches, we will teach Steamboat youth about their local environment and the impact, both positive and negative, that we have on the land.
BookTrails will offer elementary-aged children with a memorable summer learning experience. Beginning summer of 2012, we will host several week-long summer programs for elementary-aged children. The kids will have the opportunity to read, write, and create unique art in a wilderness setting. The week will have an environmental theme matched with a specially hand-picked book! Watch the video above for a sneak peek at the books!
Reading, Writing, Art & Environmental Science Taught By Natualists
Our BookTrails leaders are certified naturalists, have extensive experience in childhood education and environmental sciences, and are committed to providing the highest level of attention and instruction to Steamboat’s youth. In fact, our child-to-staff ratio is projected to be one of the lowest of all summer programs in the Yampa valley!
