Off the Beaten Path welcomes Janne Siegel, author of Mountain Tails. Siegel will be in-store signing her debut book. 

About Mountain Tails: 

This book is straight from the mouths of dogs — and a few cats too.

Mountain Tails is an amusing collection of interviews with the pets of Routt County, Colorado. Dogs and cats cover topics ranging from their ski town lifestyle to family dynamics, food fetishes, annoyances and activities. The pets share their philosophies on life and offer advice both for pets heading to a new forever home and families who are bringing home a newly adopted pet. In lieu of fees for their interviews, the pets requested that a portion of the proceeds from this book be donated to Routt County Humane Society.

About the Author: 

Janne Siegel is an energetic, borderline-neurotic multi-tasker. Her three dogs (her “Girls”) would say she is annoyingly slow when it comes time for making dinner and going on hikes, but really nice overall, especially after she finishes her morning meditation. She practiced law for more than 20 years in her previous life and is now a writer and yoga instructor. She is writing feature books on pets, a children’s book series based on animals and a pet blog. She lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado a.k.a. Ski Town USA and Dog Town USA, with her husband and her three patient Girls, who serve as her muses. Janne has been published in The Valley Voice and is a member of Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, Rocky Mountain Chapter. When she’s not writing, Janne practices and teaches yoga, loves to cook (though she’s not much into grocery shopping) and pretty much participates in all activities Steamboat Springs offers in each season (too many choices to list). Suffice it to say, she thoroughly embraces life in the Rocky Mountains.
