First Friday Artwalk - Opening Reception

Art for Advocates is a collection of mixed media pieces that help raise awareness for issues of violence against women and celebrate the national V-Day movement. Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues, to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within our own communities. In 2011, over 5,800 V-Day benefit events took place produced by volunteer activists in the U.S. and around the world, educating millions of people about the reality of violence against women and girls.

The V-Day movement is growing at a rapid pace throughout the world, in 140 countries from Europe to Asia, Africa and the Caribbean and all of North America. In eleven years, the V-Day movement has raised over $85 million.

Please join us for an unforgettable performance of the Vagina Monologues on February 12, 13 & 14th.  90% of the proceeds from art and ticket sales stay in Steamboat while 10% goes to the national V-Day movement.  Tickets are available at the front desk or by phone 970-879-6830.

The 'V' in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina.

 

First Friday Opening Reception is on 02/03/12 from 5-8pm. We serve delicious treats from our deli and 1/2 price wine all night.
