POETRY SLAM

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21st - 6 PM

Share your original poetry with a supportive audience and compete to win a $10 OTBP gift card. What is poetry slam? Good question! According to Poetry Slam, Inc. it is “the competitive art of performance poetry that puts a dual emphasis on writing and performance." 

SLAM RULES:

• Poets should sign up ahead of time (email Beryl - Beryl@steamboatbooks.com or show up and put your name on the list).  
• Poets perform their original work and are judged on a scale of 1-10 by 3 members of the audience, randomly selected by the host. Top poets will advance to the second round.
• Each poet gets three minutes per round and must not use props, costumes, or instruments.
• Please come prepared with at least three poems. 

The champion receives poetic bragging rights, our admiration, and a $10 OTBP gift card.
