Captivating stories from a time when lots of coffee and cigarettes were still healthy and an important part of an edgy, intellectual diet.  Muddy's is a coffeehouse in Denver during the beat era.  These memoirs highlight the author's love of the establishment and the effect of the business on the community and individuals as well as the positive aspects of communal thought.  Interesting people with great stories through changing times make this book a wonderful and pithy read.

I walked away from this book with a raw and uncomfortable glimpse into that place that we all find ourselves in. The place where everything normal,everything that we surround ourselves with, and everything that we have created to define our lives is over and we can't move on-not just yet. We are stuck between regret and excitement for the future. This is a very honest portrayal of a snapshot of life. It is written in an unfiltered guy's voice. This book is very harsh and crude but very real.
