About the Author

Lotta Carswell Hume lived in western China for over twenty-two years and during that time she heard and collected many of the traditional tales of China and Tibet. Lotta's wish to make these fascinating stories available to people all over the world is realized in this book, so that they may be enjoyed just as her own three children enjoyed them with their Chinese playmates. Lo Koon-chiu is a well-known children's book artist and a graduate from the Canton Technical College of Arts. Lo Koon-chiu also studied drawing and water color under a number of famous Chinese painters. Lo Koon-chiu has supplied more than ninety beautiful illustrations, all done in the classic Chinese brush style, to give this book a wonderful visual charm.
