About the Author

Sarahlynne Davis, EdM, is an experienced educator who has taught in public, private, and charter schools. She has had the privilege of writing curriculum, teaching, and mentoring at a variety of levels, from kindergarten through eighth grade. Her specialties include literacy and writing skills, especially with students who struggle with conceptual understanding of reading strategies. She has been trained in research-based, systematic reading programs. Her formal education includes a master of education in literacy from the University of San Diego, a language arts teaching credential from Indiana Wesleyan University, literacy training at the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and a bachelor's degree in English and government from Skidmore College. She is currently pursuing a doctorate of education at Texas A&M University. A passionate parenting guru, Sarahlynne has written for Z-Life magazine, Shine, Yahoo!, and a variety of online publications. She is also a co-creator of merelymothers.com, a website that encourages conversation about all aspects of motherhood, from philosophies to fashion. Sarahlynne lives in Virginia with her husband and two young children, who were the inspiration for this book!
