About the Author

Professor Paul Hofman received his MD in 1989 and his PhD in 1994. From 1993-1995, he had a postdoctoral position in the department of pathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. From 1996-1997, he worked at the institute for microbiology, Max-Planck-Institute, T bingen, Germany. Since 2003, Professor Hofman is the head of the laboratory of Clinical and Experimental pathology and head of the Human Biobank Unit, Pasteur Hospital, Nice, France.Since 1988, he has been a reviewer for 21 journals. Professor Hofman is the senior author of more than 240 publications.
