Description

When You Look Up: Selection of Poems Vol 1 reflects some of author Patricia Westbrook's hero's journey. Part way through her voyage, she suddenly finds herself lost and alone. Hearing Dr. Wayne Dyer's voice on PBS creates an avalanche of new choices. She begins to awaken into the power to intentionally focus on positivity and gratitude. She starts looking up, both physically and metaphorically. It is here where she finds a deeper awareness of the beauty of life and how energy is in all things. Her journaling begins to reflect this change. Her writing turns into short stories which soon morph into poetry on the page. It helps her find the way to peace and contentment. Some of the poems in Vol. 1 reflect the shadow side of her humanness. According to Debbie Ford, everyone must learn to embrace the shadow self before being able to step into the light and help others. Mike Dooley opens her eyes wider yet when he shares, 'Thoughts Become Things.' In 2013 the author becomes an Infinite Possibilities Trainer. She focuses on creating a more joyful life by challenging her ingrained habits and ideas about what has always been. Her poetry continues to reflect this journey into simply noticing more detail in the world around her. When she looks up, she finds an infinite universe. Join Patricia on her hero's journey. She has a lot to say about looking up.

About the Author

Toddling toward any nearby body of water as an infant quickly morphs into a lifelong curiosity as author Patricia Westbrook follows her father's inquisitive passion for learning about the world around him. He taught her how to pan for gold, hunt for arrowheads, and to seek knowledge. This instilled in her an unquenchable thirst for adventure. On occasion, she has been a spontaneous risk taker, not thinking fully through the consequences. This quirk has resulted in a few dangerous choices and close calls in her life. She's amazingly still alive and has now devoted her life to sharing with others what she loves most; writing and nature. This is her greatest joy, sharing her passion for the natural world and the written word. The pen is the catalyst for sharing her voice. This key opened the door for Patricia, doing what she most loves while helping others. Opening the door has opened so much more.
